Whatever Our Need

Joel 2:23 Be glad then, you children of Zion, And rejoice in the Lord your God; For He has given you the former rain faithfully, And He will cause the rain to come down for you— The former rain, And the latter rain in the first month.
Today we are reminded of two things. First, God's physical provision. He is a God who knows what we need, when we need it, and will always supply our need. There are times when we may suffer loss, for many different reasons, but in the end, God can, and will, restore, and ultimately make things better than they were. As we live for Him, we must remember this, and put less emphasis on trying to provide for ourself what He promised He would provide for us. Sadly, too many born again believers are ruining their lives by going after the things of this world, using the methods, and wisdom, of this world, only to end up in ruin. God will supply what we need when we get our priorities in order (making Him first). Secondly, this is a reminder, in this chapter, that God has provided us with all we need spiritually. The pouring out of the Holy Spirit on us, and indwelling us. When we accept Jesus as Savior, God redeems us to Himself, and provides for us all that we need to grow spiritually, and enjoy true fellowship with Him (with guidance from, and teaching by, the Holy Spirit). A life that is barren, and fruitless, becomes abundant with life, purpose, and fruitfulness. The bottom line is that, regardless of what the need, whether physical or spiritual, God will meet that need. As Christians, regardless of where we are in our walk with Him, we can rest assured that the things of the past are just that, the past. God is restoring, renewing, and providing us with all that is needed for this lifetime, and the one that is to come. Let's give Him thanks, and re-prioritize our life, and show Him that we trust Him to take care of us, our needs, and our family's needs.
