No Greater Sympathy...

Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.
God's grace is truly amazing! Such patience He has in dealing with each of us. How merciful can one Person be? Stop and think for a moment of all the ways we have failed Him. How often have we had to ask forgiveness? Yet, He does not give up on us. If this doesn't prove His love for us, nothing will. We have a God, a Savior, who knows how we feel when we are tempted. He knows the sorrows of loss, and betrayal, as He too suffered loss, and was betrayed, while here on earth. Because of this, He is the one Person, above and beyond anyone else we know, who knows exactly how we feel, and can relate to us, no matter what the circumstances. People will forsake us, and often during our time of greatest need. Family, and friends, will betray us; but He will stick closer to us than a brother. He, Jesus, is the ultimate Resting Place of each, and every, born again believer. We do have someone to turn to, as this chapter reminds us, and because of who Jesus is we can come boldly before God's Throne. Our enemy will often use our guilt, and shame, to keeps us from praying, and spending time in fellowship with our Lord. However, verse 13 of this chapter reminds us that EVERYTHING is before Him, and NOTHING is hidden from Him. In spite of knowing all we have done, and will do, He still saved us. So, we really have no reason not to go to Him (the only One who never fails us or forsakes us) when we need to go to someone who can relate to our weakness, our loneliness, and our suffering. Praise be to God for giving us a High Priest such as Jesus. There is no one else like Him, who will love us so unconditionally. Today, regardless of what we have done or what we are going through, let us go to the One who already knows it all, and is waiting for us to either repent and confess, or come to ask for His strength, and guidance.
