Whatever Happens...Don't Give Up!

1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
Don't give up! This is what the Apostle Paul sums up this chapter with. In light of what lies ahead for us, as born again believers, we are to continue in the race we are in. It is sometimes easy to get discouraged. We stumble in our walk with the Lord. We make mistakes, and sometimes even rebel. We make wrong choices, and on top of all that, we are sometimes mistreated, betrayed, and forsaken by those closest to us (or at least those we thought were closest to us). The Scripture tells us, that in spite of all that, and in light of the coming events, hold on, and do not give up! We are one day closer to the resurrection, and rapture, of the children of God. We are one day closer to being taken from this place, and being with our Savior for the rest of eternity! So, knowing this, we are to continue in faithful service to our Lord (for He has not given up on us). Regardless of who tries to discourage us, whether it's our enemy the devil or whether it's a family member or "friend" the devil's trying to use to discourage us; remember, our rewards for faithful service are coming from our God, and no one else. Today, if you know of someone who is on the verge of quitting, of throwing in the towel, come alongside that brother or sister, and encourage them with a word or deed that will help them to stay in the race. If the person that is about to throw up the white flag of surrender is you, I say again...don't give up, the Lord is coming back, and with Him comes our reward!
