Who Is Actually Leading?

Psalms 37:4-5 Delight yourself also in the Lord , And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord , Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.

The Christian walk can be frustrating at time. However, it is often we who frustrate it. The frustration usually comes from our attempts at making something happen, but failing to take God at His Word, in its context. Many hold on to the promise that God will us the desires of our hearts, because that is the attractive part of the promise; but we fail to remember or acknowledge that we need to first delight ourselves in Him. We are also told to commit our way to Him, and trust Him. Far too often we set our own plans in motion and expect God to bless those plans, when we have not made Him the priority of our lives. We commit things to Him that are often selfishly motivated, then wonder why nothing is working out the way we want it to. We need to take a step back and ask ourselves, "Am I trying to set up my own life, and then asking God to get on board, or am I seeking God, His will, and His plan for my life?" This life is not about us. This life is about the Lord and how we can live it in order to serve Him and glorify Him. If it seems that our life is filled with constant frustration, it may be time to ask ourselves, "Who exactly is leading my life, me or Him?"

Today, God extends an invitation to you to accept His free gift of salvation (Rom 6:23). Will you accept it? Anyone who calls on Jesus, by faith, in repentance, confessing your sins, will receive eternal life. Do not put off calling on Him, and receive Him and His free gift of salvation today (Rom 10:13).
