1 Peter 4:10-11 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
How are we using the talents and abilities God has given us? Are we using them for the glory of God, and being a blessing to the local church, and those in need; or have we sold out to self and the world? Over the years, I have seen Christians who seldom use their talents and abilities to serve God, but have run to the world to sell their talents and abilities, solely for self gain. There is absolutely nothing wrong with making a living with the gifts God has given us, but are we neglecting those gifts when it comes to serving the One who gave them to us? Just as an example, how many have started out using their voices to praise God in the local church, singing for the glory of Jesus, only to sell out to the world, and Satan, singing songs that are blasphemous, just for fame and fortune? Some will make the excuse, "I do this all week. I need a break from it." All to avoid serving others each week. Yet, they will miss a day of worship at the local church, to work overtime, using those very same talents or abilities they "need a break from". What talents or abilities do we have that we can use today to serve God and bless someone in need?
Today, God extends an invitation to you to accept His free gift of salvation (Rom 6:23). Will you accept it? Anyone who calls on Jesus, by faith, in repentance, confessing your sins, will receive eternal life. Do not put off calling on Him, and receive Him and His free gift of salvation today (Rom 10:13).
