Galatians 6:7-8 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.
Our tendency, when it comes to sin, and making selfish choices, is that we become short-sighted. We focus on what we want now without truly considering what it will cost us later. Sadly, we have fallen into the trap of wanting what we want, when we want it. As a matter of fact, we want it yesterday! We live in a time when it has been made far too easy for us to get what we want, when we want it, even if we can't afford it. The consequences end up being that in the long run we find out that we really did not need what we got, and really cannot afford it, but now it is too late and we are trapped. We are now slaves to the thing we really did not need and should have walked away from. Sin and sinful choices are no different. Sin will always cost us more than we are willing to pay. God desires the best for us, but we complicate our lives by following our own fleshly desires. We must not let the devil, this world, and our selfishness draw us away from God. Let us keep our eyes on things above and the God who loves us more than we realize.
Today, God extends an invitation to you to accept His free gift of salvation (Rom 6:23). Will you accept it? Anyone who calls on Jesus, by faith, in repentance, confessing your sins, will receive eternal life. Do not put off calling on Him, and receive Him and His free gift of salvation today (Rom 10:13).
