Fruitful Branch or Firewood?

Matthew 5:30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.

The question that comes to mind this morning is, "Am I a fruitful branch for Jesus or firewood?" I believe it is a question we need to ask ourselves every single day. Are there areas of our lives that we are holding on to that are causing us to slowly become useless for the cause of Christ? Are we refusing to forsake a pet sin(s) that Jesus is trying to prune out of our lives, but we are refusing to let go; thereby causing more pain and suffering in our lives, and the lives of those around us? Pruning is painful and necessary if we truly want to live fruitful lives in Christ. It is time to let go, and let God remove those thing that are hindering the growth process in our lives, for our good, the cause of Christ, and His glory.

Today, God extends an invitation to you to accept His free gift of salvation (Rom 6:23). Will you accept it? Anyone who calls on Jesus, by faith, in repentance, confessing your sins, will receive eternal life. Do not put off calling on Him, and receive Him and His free gift of salvation today (Rom 10:13).
