Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Can we honestly say that we are bearing fruit in our walk with the Lord? Are we still the same person that we used to be, or would our family, friends, and neighbors say that we are a different person than who they once knew us as? The truth of the matter is that we, in and of ourselves, cannot change. If that were possible, we would not need Jesus. Jesus told us that He is the Vine (John 15). We are the branches. The branches cannot produce fruit on their own. The Water in the Vine helps produce the fruit that the Vine causes to grow on the branches. The branches are the ones that display the fruit. As we walk with Jesus, the fruit that is produced in our lives is the fruit of the Spirit. Are we allowing the Spirit to produce His fruit in ours lives, or are we trying to do something that only Jesus can accomplish in us? Stop resisting, and start allowing the Lord to openly display His fruit in our lives that will bring Him the glory He deserves. Spend more time in His Word and in prayer. Then, trust Him, put His Word to action, and see what the Lord does.
Today, God extends an invitation to you to accept His free gift of salvation (Rom 6:23). Will you accept it? Anyone who calls on Jesus, by faith, in repentance, confessing your sins, will receive eternal life. Do not put off calling on Him, and receive Him and His free gift of salvation today (Rom 10:13).
