Genesis 21:1-2 And the Lord visited Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did for Sarah as He had spoken. For Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
Abraham's faith was incredible, when we stop and think about it. Twenty five years is a long time to wait for God to fulfill a promise or answer a prayer. That's how long it took for God to fulfill His promise to Abraham. We start to get impatient after a week or two. It is in those moments of feeling impatient that the devils jump right in and start whispering in our ears. We start believing all the lies the enemies put in our minds, and before we know it, we're making our own plans, and scheming as to how we will make them a reality. That's what Abram and Sarai did, and the world is still feeling the affects of that decision today. Waiting on God patiently is one of the biggest challenges to our faith, especially if we are not happy, or content, with our current situation. God may not answer our prayers, or His promises, right away; but of this we can be sure, God always answers prayer and never goes back on His Word. Let us trust Him and serve Him faithfully while we wait.
Today, God extends an invitation to you to accept His free gift of salvation (Rom 6:23). Will you accept it? Anyone who calls on Jesus, by faith, in repentance, confessing your sins, will receive eternal life. Do not put off calling on Him, and receive Him and His free gift of salvation today (Rom 10:13).
