Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
In my lifetime, I have had many opportunities to be friends with, or work for, people who others did not think much of, based on their opinions. I have always tried not to judge people based on someone else's gossip. In the times when I have truly been able to do that, what I found was a person who turned out to be a good friend, or a good boss. Loving others is not always easy, but then again, Jesus loves us, even when we are not easy to love (which is most of the time). However, it is by the way we love each other that the world will know we are His. Loving others might be hard, but the command is simple; love God and love people. It is the way God opens doors for us to share Jesus with those who are lost, dying, and in great need of eternal life that can only be found in Him.
Today, God extends an invitation to you to accept His free gift of salvation (Rom 6:23). Will you accept it? Anyone who calls on Jesus, by faith, in repentance, confessing your sins, will receive eternal life. Do not put off calling on Him, and receive Him and His free gift of salvation today (Rom 10:13).
