Psalms 34:4 & 6, I sought the Lord , and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears. 6 This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles.
I believe we make prayer more complicated than it is. As born again believers, we have God with us always, because the Holy Spirit indwells us. This means that God is accessible to us 24/7, no matter where we are or what we are doing. "Praying always" does not mean we have to drop to our knees every single time we want to pray. When Peter walked on water and began to sink, he cried out, "Lord, save me!" It was a quick prayer of desperation. When Nehemiah stood before King Artaxerxes to give his answer and request to go to Judah to rebuild it, in Nehemiah 2:4 we are told that he prayed before he made his request, as he stood before the king. Prayer is simply talking to God, letting him know how we are feeling, what is burdening our hearts (because He already knows and it is pointless to try and hide it), and listening. Prayer is fellowship with the One who died for us. Let us not pass up the wonderful privilege of having access to the very Throne Room of God. He wants to hear from us, and spend time with us!
Today, God extends an invitation to you to accept His free gift of salvation (Rom 6:23). Will you accept it? Anyone who calls on Jesus, by faith, in repentance, confessing your sins, will receive eternal life. Do not put off calling on Him, and receive Him and His free gift of salvation today (Rom 10:13).
