A Demonstration of His Love

Psalms 94:12-13 Blessed is the man whom You discipline, O Lord, and whom You teach out of Your law, to give him rest from days of trouble, until a pit is dug for the wicked.

If there is one truth that continues to recur in the Psalms, it is this...the wicked will not escape the judgment of God. However, until that day comes, we must learn how to deal with those moments when evil shows up and attempts to hinder our walk with Jesus. Many of us already know that our God is neither deaf nor blind. Therefore, all that the wicked do, they do in plain sight before God. In these verses, however, we are reminded of something that many of us do not stop to consider. God will sometimes allow us to be affected by the actions of the wicked, with the purpose of disciplining us. In this case, the word used here for discipline means "to instruct". In other words, God will sometimes use the actions of the wicked to teach us to trust Him, to teach us the truth of His Word, and ultimately teach us that while we wait for the judgment of the wicked, we can have peace and joy in Jesus Christ. The Word of God tells us that we are blessed when we endure trials. Let us learn to cherish those times when the Lord chooses to discipline us; for His discipline is always done in love, and as a demonstration of His love.

Today, God extends an invitation to you to accept His free gift of salvation (Rom 7:23). Will you accept it? Anyone who calls on Jesus, by faith, in repentance, confessing your sins, will receive eternal life. Do not put off calling on Him, and receive His free gift of salvation today (Rom 10:13).
