Jesus or the World?

Psalms 84:10 For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.

We have so much to look forward to as born-again followers of Jesus. It is exciting to think about all the promises that are yet to come; Jesus' return to get His church, our return with Him, the judgment of the wicked, and the establishment of His Millennial Kingdom. All of these things are exciting, and if we cannot get excited about that...I say, "Check your pulse!" My question for us, who are excited, is, "Are we excited about God, and serving Him, now?" As much as we are looking forward to what is coming, what are we doing about serving Him today? Do we prefer to be in the presence of God today, or do we prefer following the world and its ways? Have we used the excuse of how other Christians behave to justify not attending, and serving God in, the local church? Are we worshipping people or Jesus? Are we called to measure ourselves by others, or does the Bible tell us that we fall short of the glory (Jesus) of God? Have we allowed what is happening in the world, and in our country, to quench the fire within us that once burned for the Lord and our service to Him? The time is long overdue for us to find that joy, once again, we can have in Jesus! The time is long overdue for us to seek Jesus, His fellowship, and how we can serve Him! The time is long overdue for us to stop "playing Christian", walking the fence of compromise, and choose to live a life of separation from this world! I am not saying that we become pharisaical Christians. No, what I am saying is that we are in this world, but not of this world. We need to desire the things of God more than we desire the things of this world. Time to put the distractions aside, and find pleasure in serving the Lord, even in the smallest of ways. We may just find out one day soon that what we thought was a small way to serve actually yields the greatest rewards, in Christ Jesus.

Today, God extends an invitation to you to accept His free gift of salvation (Rom 6:23). Will you accept it? Anyone who calls on Jesus, by faith, in repentance, confessing your sins, will receive eternal life. Do not put off calling on Him, and receive Him and His free gift of salvation today (Rom 10:13).
