Psalms 92:1-3 It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; to declare Your lovingkindness in the morning, and Your faithfulness every night, on an instrument of ten strings, on the lute, and on the harp, with harmonious sound.
This morning, as we read this Psalm on our patio, and spent some time in prayer, we were serenaded by an orchestra of feathered musicians, lifting their voices in praise to our Creator. At least that is what it reminds us of each morning when we hear them. Amazingly, their songs are not dampened by weather. If it is sunny, they sing. If it is cloudy, they sing. If it rains, they sing. For us, it is a wonderful reminder that our giving of thanks, and praise, should not be measured or determined by our circumstances. At the end of each day, we seal it with Scripture reading, reflection of the day, and prayer. The day ends with a song in our hearts. Is it easy to do this every single day without fail? If we are honest, the answer is "no", because there are many things in this life that compete for our attention, and enemies that want to rob us of these intimate moments with our God. However, on the many days that we take the time to start our day with giving thanks and offering praise, and end the day with a thankful heart, in appreciation for the Lord's faithfulness, it helps us to realize how blessed we really are. If there is breath in our lungs, and we opened our eyes to another day of life, then we have an opportunity today to thank God for His faithfulness, and praise Him for such undeserved goodness.
Today, God extends an invitation to you to accept His free gift of salvation (Rom 7:23). Will you accept it? Anyone who calls on Jesus, by faith, in repentance, confessing your sins, will receive eternal life. Do not put off calling on Him, and receive His free gift of salvation today (Rom 10:13).
