His Watchful Eye

Psalms 70:1, 5 Make haste, O God, to deliver me! Make haste to help me, O Lord! 5 But I am poor and needy; Make haste to me, O God! You are my Help and my Deliverer; O Lord, do not delay.

There is no greater feeling of desperation than when we are in the heat of troubling circumstances, and it appears that God is not hearing us, nor seeing our dilemma. In the midst of trials and persecutions is not the time we want to feel like our prayers are falling on deaf ears. Yet, we may feel this way, often, when God does not answer our prayers in what we deem to be a timely manner. We forget that God does not work on our timetable. His timing is not our timing, and His ways are not our ways. God always has a reason for delaying a visible response to our prayers. Even before we ask, He already has the situation resolved. It most likely will not be in the manner we think it would, or should, be resolved; but it will always be for our good and His glory. When we begin to think that God has abandoned us in our time of need, or when we begin to think that somehow God does not see what is happening, remember this...nothing, absolutely nothing, escapes God's watchful eye. Proverbs 15:3 tells us, "The eyes of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good." Psalms 34:15-16 also tells us, "The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry. The face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth." So let us be reassured that no matter what we are going through, God sees our circumstances, hears our prayers, and will answer in His perfect time, for our good and His glory.

Today, God extends an invitation to you to accept His free gift of salvation (Rom 6:23). Will you accept it? Anyone who calls on Jesus, by faith, in repentance, confessing your sins, will receive eternal life. Do not put off calling on Him, and receive Him and His free gift of salvation today (Rom 10:13).
