Psalms 26:2 Examine me, O Lord , and prove me; Try my mind and my heart.
How many of us would be ready for the Lord to show us what is in our hearts and minds? I am willing to bet that many of us would not like what would be revealed. King David could write with confidence, that he walked in his integrity and did not keep corrupt company. He did his best to live a holy life, but we know he did not live a perfect life. So it is with us. We are called to live a life of separation from the unrighteous, and the wicked. We are not to be like the unsaved, or keep company with the unsaved. We are not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers. This does not mean that we not associate with them at all, as we are supposed to win them to Christ; but we are not to become, or live, like them. My simple question to all of us today is, "What would be found, if God showed us what was in our hearts and minds?" Would we find that the Lord could say, "Here is a man/woman after My own heart", or would He show us that we are in need of a serious spiritual overhaul? Praise the Lord that it is Jesus' righteousness that makes us acceptable before our Heavenly Father, who declares us "not guilty" by the Blood of our Savior.
Today, God extends an invitation to you to accept His free gift of salvation (Rom 6:23). Will you accept it? Anyone who calls on Jesus, by faith, in repentance, confessing your sins, will receive eternal life. Do not put off calling on Him, and receive Him and His free gift of salvation today (Rom 10:13).
