Rejoice and Trust Him

Psalms 5:4-6 For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, Nor shall evil dwell with You. The boastful shall not stand in Your sight; You hate all workers of iniquity. You shall destroy those who speak falsehood; The Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.

In times like these, we need to find comfort in the fact that God is not blind to what is happening in our world. As a matter of fact, God warned us that these days were coming. So I say to us, as the Apostle Peter wrote in 1 Peter 4:12-13, "Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ's sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy." It is no secret that the world wants to muzzle the church. We have one of two choices; we can go along with the world, and let it silence us, or we can speak louder, proclaiming the Name of Jesus, and continuing to serve Him, and live for Him. Which ever way we choose, know this, that God will not spare the wicked. All those who think they are getting away with their evil plotting, and shaking their fist at God and His people, are in for a very unpleasant surprise. Our God is not weak. He has not lost control; and a day is coming soon when the wicked will be wiped away from the earth. They will perish, and not even a memory of them will be left. The words of King David are a reminder that God will bring justice and judgment to those who are plotting and carrying out all the wicked acts that are being paraded, so proudly, before our eyes. God is faithful to His Word, and His promises. I will leave us with the last words King David penned in this Psalm, verses 11 and 12, "But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; Let those also who love Your name Be joyful in You. For You, O Lord , will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield."

Today, God extends an invitation to you to accept His free gift of salvation (Rom 6:23). Will you accept it? Anyone who calls on Jesus, by faith, in repentance, confessing your sins, will receive eternal life. Do not put off calling on Him, and receive Him and His free gift of salvation today (Rom 10:13).
