Psalms 19:9-11 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them Your servant is warned, and in keeping them there is great reward.
Today, we are reminded that of all the things we possess, here on earth, in Christ Jesus, the most valuable is the Word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 clearly tells us how valuable God's Word is to each of us, as it is God breathed (inspired), and profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness. His Word completely equips us for every good work. King David reminds us that God's judgments, or decisions, are faithful, true, and trustworthy. As He guides us, by the leading of His Spirit, and His Word, regardless of what He allows and how He directs, based on His Word, His ways are always right and just. However, our acceptance of God's ways begins with our fear of the Lord. King David told us that the fear of the Lord, our reverence for Him, is clean. In other words, it is, and should be, morally pure. The evidence of whether we truly believe this, will be evident in how much true effort we put into being an obedient doer of the Word, and how we respond to what the Lord does, and allows, in our lives. The bottom line is, that we need to value God's Word as the most valuable treasure we possess; because living according to its truths will not only make us more like Jesus, and bring Him the most glory, but will also yield to us the greatest heavenly reward. Nothing else on earth can compare to that.
Today, God extends an invitation to you to accept His free gift of salvation (Rom 6:23). Will you accept it? Anyone who calls on Jesus, by faith, in repentance, confessing your sins, will receive eternal life. Do not put off calling on Him, and receive Him and His free gift of salvation today (Rom 10:13).
