John 14:5-6 Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?" Jesus said to him, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
How can we know the way? The simple answer...God's Word. It is where we find the truth that reveals the Way. It is where we find the Way to the Father, and the way to other destinations that are available to us, only in Christ Jesus. In John 1:4 we are told that in Jesus was life; and in John 11:25 Jesus said that He is the Resurrection and the Life. Acts 4:12 tells us that there is no other Name under heaven given among men by which we MUST be saved...no other. Jesus is the only Way to life eternal. John 1:17 tells us that Jesus is the Way from which came grace and truth. This is the grace that we need each and every day. It is the grace that brings forgiveness for our sins, and gives us what we do not deserve. It is the grace that allows us to be reconciled to our Heavenly Father. It is the grace we have access to in those times we need help. Jesus is the Way that brings us truth. This is the truth that sets us free from fear and the bondage of sin. It is the truth that shines light on the lies and deceptions of the enemy. It is the truth we need to focus on today, as the world and its system attempts to put us in bondage to fear. In Jesus, the Way, we have been given the confidence through faith in Him, to boldly access the throne of grace, and put aside the lie that we are not worthy to approach the Father; for it is the righteousness of Jesus, not our own, that has made a way. Because of Jesus we have a way to the Father and all the blessings that come with being a child of God, and having an intimate relationship with our Lord and Savior. It is by His Blood, and by the Spirit (Ephesians 2:18) that we have been cleansed and given access to the things and places we cannot earn or obtain by our own works. In Jesus we find the way to restful pastures (John 10:9). In Him we find rest from trying to work for our salvation. In Him we find rest when life becomes turbulent. In Him we have access to the joy and the peace that passes all understanding, even when it seems like things are out of control. He is truly the Way, the only Way.
Today, God extends an invitation to you to accept His free gift of salvation (Rom 7:23). Will you accept it? Anyone who calls on Jesus, by faith, in repentance, confessing your sins, will receive eternal life. Do not put off calling on Him, and receive His free gift of salvation today (Rom 10:13).
