1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Prayer plays a key role in our ability to live in accordance with the will of God. We are told to rejoice always, and in everything to give thanks, because that is the will of God. That means rejoicing and giving thanks at all times, regardless of the circumstances. How do we accomplish that? We accomplish that by the power of God working in us. How do we access the power provided to us by the Holy Spirit? We access it by prayer. This is why praying without ceasing is so important for each and every believer. We must stay in constant communication with the One who gives us peace and joy, even in the most turbulent times. So today, and going forward, if our desire is to have true intimacy with God, and if we desire to draw from the strength that is available to us, in Him; then we must take advantage of the open line of communication that the Father has provided for us via Christ Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
Today, God extends an invitation to you to accept His free gift of salvation (Rom 7:23). Will you accept it? Anyone who calls on Jesus, by faith, in repentance, confessing your sins, will receive eternal life. Do not put off calling on Him, and receive His free gift of salvation today (Rom 10:13).
