Three Witnesses and the Truth

‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭I John‬ ‭5:6‭-‬8‬ [6] This is He who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. [7] For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. [8] And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one.

John makes it clear that Jesus was here as a human being. He was fully Man and fully God. He had a physical birth and blood ran through His veins, just as ours does. He lived a pure and sinless life, which qualified Him to suffer and die for our sins. By the spilling of His Blood we are washed clean and made white as snow. His resurrection sealed the deal, and death and the grave were defeated. John goes on to explain that this testimony is a true testimony because the Father, who sent the Son, the Son who suffered and died for us, and the Spirit who testified by giving us His Word, are all Witnesses to this truth. The bottom line is that Jesus is who He says He is, and has done what the Word tells us He did. Therefore, the irrefutable truth is that salvation can only be found and obtained in the Person, and Name of Jesus Christ. What are we doing with that truth? For the unsaved, it means that a free gift is being offered. That gift is eternal life, paid in full by Jesus Himself. For us, who are saved, it means that we should be busy sharing the life changing Good News of what Jesus did, with family, friends, and anyone God puts before us from day to day. Our time here is short, and none of us are guaranteed tomorrow. Today, my friends, is the day of salvation!

Today, God extends an invitation to you to accept His free gift of salvation (Romans 6:23). Will you accept it? Anyone who calls on Jesus, by faith, in repentance, confessing your sins, will receive eternal life. Do not put off calling on Him, and receive His free gift of salvation today (Romans 10:13).
