Keep Looking Up

I John 2:18-19 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.

Here's a very sad truth. Not everyone who claims to be a Christian is actually a Christian. That title was once used to mock followers of Jesus (Acts 11). It meant to be a "little Christ". Today it is thrown around by anyone who claims to believe in God or who claims to be religious. Don't get me wrong, it's a good thing to believe in God. However, that does not make us Christians. James tells us that the devils believe and they tremble. To be a true follower of Christ means to trust in what Jesus did on the cross. He gave His life as the Sacrifice for our sins. He rose from the dead. Now when we repent and confess our sins, believe that Jesus did what He did, is who the Bible says He is, and call upon His Name by faith; only then can we truly claim that we are Christians. Our salvation is by faith alone. John warns that in these last days there will be some who will fall away, but they were never really Christians at all. The fact that they fell away, and no longer follow after Jesus, is evidence that they did not truly believe and were not really trusting in Christ for eternal life. John issued another warning that many Christians are either ignorant about or just don't understand. In these last days there will be many false teachers. Some will even claim that they are Jesus Himself. Those who are not true followers of Christ will fall away and follow these antichrists. My friends, do yourself a favor and be students of God's Word so that you aren't deceived. Look around and see the sign of the times. Our world is quickly being set up for the one Antichrist who will one day rule using the system that is currently being established; a one world government, one world bank, and one world religion. This is something that will not be stopped. God tells us this will happen. For us who know Jesus and are true followers, this should be an encouragement. Why, you ask? Because it means that the Lord's return to get His church is closer than ever! So don't be surprised when you see "Christians" fall away, and see more and more false teachers rise up. Don't be surprised when you see a new one world order developing; for that is what will be needed for the Antichrist to rule. Instead, realize the urgency of sharing the Gospel and keep looking up, because any day now Jesus will return and we who are true born again Christians will meet Him in the air to be with Him forevermore!

Today, God extends an invitation to you to accept His free gift of salvation (Romans 6:23). Will you accept it? Anyone who calls on Jesus, by faith, in repentance, confessing your sins, will receive eternal life. Do not put off calling on Him, and receive His free gift of salvation today (Romans 10:13).
