Luke 12:39-40 “But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have allowed his house to be broken into. You too, be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour that you do not expect.”
We are living in exciting times! I know some will read this and ask, "Are you kidding me? Where have you been all of 2020?!" Well, I have been right here, seeing all that has been happening in the world, but staying focused on what is happening in the Middle East; especially as it pertains to Israel. Sadly, what I have also seen is a lukewarm attitude from people who should be on fire for Jesus. I have heard being said, even amongst the children of God, what is written in 2 Peter 3:4, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.” I say this is truly sad because this is a time when we, the followers of Jesus, should be doing all we can to live for the Lord, knowing that His return is even closer today than ever before. If all we are doing is standing around and looking up, then we are missing the point! This is the time when we should be striving to live pure lives, and doing whatever it takes to tell others about what Jesus did, and what is to come. Jesus, in speaking to the religious people of His day, said this in Matthew 16:2-3, "When it is evening, you say, ‘ It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’ And in the morning, ‘ There will be a storm today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Do you know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but cannot discern the signs of the times?" Are we living our Christianity no better than this? Are we living each day as if Jesus is never coming back, or as if we have "all the time in the world"? First, we are not guaranteed tomorrow, and second, Jesus can, and will, return to get us at any moment! In light of that, can we honestly say that we are doing all we can to live for the Lord, and serve Him, in all we say and do?
Today, God extends an invitation to you to accept His free gift of salvation (Rom 6:23). Will you accept it? Anyone who calls on Jesus, by faith, in repentance, confessing your sins, will receive eternal life. Do not put off calling on Him, and receive Him and His free gift of salvation today (Rom 10:13).
